Hi. My name is Tally Harmon and I am starting this blog because I wanted a way to share all the great information I learn from school, experiences, people, etc. with others regarding family life and relationships. I am majoring in Marriage, Family, and Human Development, so most of this site will consist of papers and assignments I've had to do for school. I really hope all who come across this site will find some benefit and will apply what they learn, especially those I care about most - my family and friends.

I hope you will take the time to learn and be enlighted, and I hope you will take the time to help others do the same by sharing this site or what you learn from this site with them.

Sincerely,

T. Harmon

What You Can Do to Fight Pornography

Sometimes we feel shocked, offended, or appalled by what we see on T.V., a magazine at a store checkout, or on a billboard. We may shake our heads and think, “Tisk, tisk”, but feel powerless to really do anything about it. However, what many people don’t know is that the level of obscenity or decency in our community depends on us!

Whether there are Home & Gardens magazines at our store checkouts or magazines with explicit images, it is because we have let it be so. To read up more on how current law allows us – regular citizens- to make the call on obscenity, read my essay, “Past and Present Obscenity Legislation and its Implications for the Community and Family”. This article also contains suggestions on what we can do to start raising the decency standard in our own community. Link: Obscenity Legislation and Implications for Communities and Families
In addition, here is a list of links to excellent websites that can give you great information about the dangers of pornography, and what you can do to keep your family and community protected.
